The Hope of Easter: Week 2 – Hope Rises From The Dead
The disciples watched as Jesus was taken away to be crucified. They knew what was to come. They saw it many times. Jesus was going to a cruel death, nailed to a cross followed by exhaustion and asphyxiation. Four three years they listened to His message of hope and His declaration that the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand. Now it seemed without doubt, that everything Jesus taught and did was coming to nothing! His mission failed! Jesus was going to his death. Was there ever a darker day? What they didn’t know or understand is that Jesus death was not the end, it was just the beginning. The tool Satan used to destroy Jesus was reversed on the Ancient Snake and it became the instrument of Satan’s destruction. Jesus rose from the dead and utterly destroyed death and Satan and opened heaven to all who would believe in Jesus!
