All the Rabbis and Teachers of the Law knew where the Messiah was to be born. Micah 5:2 and 2 Samuel 5:2 make it clear that Bethlehem would be the birthplace of the King of the Universe: βAnd you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.ββ Jesus came preaching that the Kingdom of God was at hand. All who become Christians enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus Himself is the King that we serve. Indeed, Jesus tells all believers that their only pursuit should be the constant seeking after the Kingdom of God. In this life it must always be a never-ending pursuit.
