ACTS: Part 52 – The Lord’s Purposes become Clear
  -

Paul may not have understood all the reasons why he had to suffer, but Luke in his record of events shows us the unfolding of God’s purposes. Luke says, Then the commander called two of his officers and ordered, “Get 200 soldiers ready to leave for Caesarea at nine o’clock tonight. Also take 200 spearmen and 70 mounted troops. Provide horses for Paul to ride and get him safely to Governor Felix. This is a fulfillment of what we read about in Acts 9.  We are told that God had great plans for Paul.  But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.” And the first leader among the Gentiles to hear the Gospel is the Governor Felix, in Caesarea.
