God Keep Our Land, Glorious and Free
It’s that time of the year again when we celebrate our country and say, Happy Birthday Canada. Our national anthem is sung across the nation in French and in English. Part of the anthem is a prayer: “God keep our land, glorious and free, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.” The greatest thing we can do for Canada is to pray for God’s protection and to remain vigilant in protecting the freedoms that we take for granted. The Lord can easily take it all away from us if we forget Him. And let’s not forget, these freedoms are founded on the teachings of scripture and we must also remember that this land is not our land. The Bible declares, The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Let’s be vigilante and prayerful and good citizens in these dark times.
