Hallelujah – Psalm 117
  -

Psalm 117 is the exact centre chapter of the whole Bible. And Christ is the exact centre of all of history. In Psalm 117, the gentiles, those who are not considered God’s chosen people, are invited to join in praise of God with the Jews. As Christians, we view this as a fulfillment of God’s promise of mercy to the Gentiles, pointing to God’s promise that all nations would be blessed in the seed of Abraham, whom we know is Christ, as described in the letter to the Galatians. Paul says, “God gave the promises to Abraham and his child. And notice that the Scripture doesn’t say “to his children,” as if it meant many descendants. Rather, it says “to his child”—and that, of course, means Christ.” We rejoice in the Christ who came to gather people from every nation, tribe and tongue. And someday we will worship Christ together around His throne. Hallelujah!
