The Persecuted Church
PASTOR ALAN DUNCALFE   -

Today is the international day of prayer for the persecuted church. Today we are focusing on our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering for their faith and obedience to Christ. There is a saying, “Out of sight; out of mind.” But the scriptures don’t permit us to use this excuse. The author of Hebrews says, “Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.” And our Lord Jesus Christ warns us in Matthew 25: I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’ “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’ “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’
