TRUTH: A Study in 2 Timothy 3 – Scripture Keeps Us Safe
In an age of rampant evil and heresy, we will be safe as long as we are faithful to scripture! Jesus Christ said that he is the solid rock on which wise people build their lives. Jesus said that he is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Christians must understand what it means when we say, it is in Christ alone that we put our faith and it is by His word alone that we live. Jesus is the revelation of God’s will and purpose for humanity. For this reason, Jesus is called the Word of God. The Word of God is utterly sufficient for all that we need to know for eternal life and for abundant life, here, and now. The Apostle Paul wants his protégé Timothy—and us—to understand and embrace this doctrine. Paul says, “But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived. But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you.”
